Frequently Asked Questions
General
1. What is Zendly?
Zendly is a parcel-delivery marketplace that connects Senders with independent Carriers, including travellers already moving along suitable routes. The Platform facilitates matching, tracking, payment and secure pickup/delivery confirmation.
2. How does Zendly work?
A Sender enters parcel, pickup, destination and Receiver details. Zendly searches for a suitable Carrier. Once accepted, the app supports payment, physical handover, tracking and delivery confirmation using OTP and/or other digital proof.
3. Where is Zendly available?
Zendly currently serves selected locations and routes in Tenkasi and Tirunelveli districts. Enter the route in the app to check current availability.
4. Who can use Zendly?
Individuals aged 18 or above who are legally competent to contract may create an account, subject to verification and the Terms. Local businesses may use Zendly through an authorised representative.
5. Can I use both Sender and Carrier modes?
Yes. Eligible users can switch roles. Carrier features require applicable identity/KYC and onboarding checks.
Sending and delivery
6. How do I book a parcel?
Select pickup and destination, provide accurate parcel and Receiver details, choose an available delivery option, review the fare and submit the booking. In the current flow, payment is requested after the Carrier arrives and before parcel handover/pickup OTP, unless the booking screen states otherwise.
7. What can I send?
Ordinary documents and non-sensitive photocopies, clothes, books, stationery, securely packed household goods and supported dry packaged food are generally suitable. Electronics, cosmetics, medicines, food, plants, fragile and high-value items may be restricted. Check the full Prohibited and Restricted Items Policy.
8. What is prohibited?
Do not send illegal drugs, weapons, ammunition, explosives, fuels, hazardous chemicals, cash or bearer instruments, jewellery/precious items, stolen/counterfeit goods, live animals, remains, biological samples, medical waste, leaking material or anything unlawful along the route.
9. Can I send medicines?
Only categories expressly supported by the booking flow may be considered. Medicines must be lawful, sealed, properly packed and accompanied by any legally required prescription or documentation. Controlled, temperature-sensitive and unsupported specialised medicines must not be sent.
10. Can I send food?
Sealed, shelf-stable dry food may be accepted where supported. Raw meat, fish, dairy, frozen/hot food, liquids and rapidly perishable or temperature-controlled food are unsupported unless Zendly expressly offers a suitable service.
11. Can I send fragile items?
Only where the app supports a fragile declaration. The Sender must use adequate protective packaging. Some easily breakable items may be refused based on the item, packaging, route or transport mode. Acceptance does not create insurance or guarantee against breakage.
12. Can I send electronics or batteries?
Supported electronics must be accurately declared and securely protected. Damaged, swollen or recalled batteries are prohibited. Loose lithium batteries, power banks and battery-powered products may be restricted by transport mode.
13. How should I pack the parcel?
Use a strong container, internal cushioning, leak protection where relevant and tamper-evident sealing. Declare fragile or special-handling needs. A Carrier may refuse an unsafe, leaking, inadequately packed or materially misdeclared parcel.
14. How is the fare calculated?
Fare may depend on distance, parcel weight/dimensions, transport/delivery plan, urgency/time and applicable fees and taxes. Review the displayed total and breakup before payment.
15. When do I pay?
In the current app flow, the Sender pays after the Carrier arrives and before handing over the parcel or sharing pickup OTP. Follow the instructions displayed for that booking.
16. Which payment methods are supported?
The available payment methods will be displayed in the app at the time of payment. Users should select from the payment options currently available for their booking.
17. Can I cancel a booking?
Yes, subject to booking stage and the Refund and Cancellation Policy. A disclosed fee may apply after a Carrier starts travelling or arrives. The exact fee must be shown before cancellation confirmation. After pickup, return-to-Sender or failed-delivery terms may apply.
18. What if no Carrier accepts?
Zendly searches for the period shown in the app. If no Carrier accepts, the booking may expire or offer another mode, plan, retry or cancellation. Any collected payment is handled under the Refund and Cancellation Policy.
19. Can I track my parcel?
Tracking is available during supported active-booking stages. Updates depend on permissions, network, GPS accuracy and the Carrier’s device, so they may not always be continuous or perfectly real-time.
20. How is delivery verified?
Zendly may use pickup/Receiver OTP, in-app confirmation, location checks, photos, signature or other digital proof. Never share an OTP before the relevant physical handover.
21. What if the Receiver is unavailable?
The Carrier/support team may contact the parties and apply waiting, re-attempt, return-to-Sender or failed-delivery steps. A disclosed charge may apply.
Carriers
22. Who can become a Carrier?
An eligible person aged 18 or above with a verified mobile number and completed Aadhaar identity verification may apply to become a Carrier. Additional documents may be requested where applicable, depending on the selected transport mode or service requirements.
23. Which documents are required?
Aadhaar verification is mandatory for Carrier identity verification. Other documents such as PAN, Driving Licence, Bike/Car RC or additional documents may be requested where applicable, depending on the selected transport mode or service requirements.
24. Do I need a travel plan?
You may configure a regular route through Set Your Journey and turn Availability on. Travel Plans support different routes/schedules where available. Jobs are not guaranteed.
25. Can I reject a request?
Yes. After acceptance, complete the delivery or promptly report a genuine cancellation reason. Repeated abusive cancellations may affect the account.
26. How do Carriers earn?
The booking/earnings screen shows applicable earnings and disclosed commission, tax or deductions. Eligible earnings are credited after successful delivery confirmation and required review.
27. What commission does Zendly charge?
Zendly may charge a platform commission on successfully completed deliveries. The applicable commission and any deductions will be clearly displayed in the Carrier’s earnings details.
28. When can earnings be withdrawn?
Eligible earnings become available after successful delivery completion. Carriers can request a withdrawal once their available balance reaches the minimum withdrawal amount of ₹200. Payout timing may vary due to KYC verification, disputes, fraud review or payment service provider processing.
29. What if a Carrier cancels after accepting?
Immediately report the genuine reason. Repeated unjustified cancellation, cancellation after pickup or failure to safeguard/return a parcel may result in payout adjustment or account action under the Carrier Agreement.
Safety, claims and insurance
30. Are parcels insured?
Zendly currently does not provide parcel insurance. If an insurance or parcel protection option is introduced in the future, the applicable coverage and terms will be clearly displayed before booking.
31. What if my parcel is lost or damaged?
Contact Zendly Support promptly with the booking ID and available supporting information, such as the parcel description, declared value, invoice, packaging photos and pickup or delivery evidence. Zendly will review the reported issue in accordance with its Terms and applicable policies. Compensation, if any, will depend on the circumstances of the claim and applicable terms.
32. How quickly should I report an issue?
Report it as soon as possible. Zendly recommends reporting visible damage, tampering, shortage, loss or misdelivery within 24 hours to preserve evidence. This does not remove applicable legal rights.
33. What if a parcel appears dangerous?
Do not accept, open or unnecessarily handle it. Contact emergency services first for immediate danger, then Zendly support. A Sender may be asked to open/clarify a parcel before custody is accepted.
Refunds and support
34. Can I get a refund?
Eligibility depends on booking stage, cancellation reason, payment status, service already performed and the Refund and Cancellation Policy. Approved refunds should return to the original payment method unless another method is necessary.
35. How long does a refund take?
Once a refund is approved by Zendly, it will be initiated to the original payment method. The time taken for the amount to be credited may vary depending on the bank or payment service provider. You can track the refund status in the app or contact Zendly Support for assistance.
36. What if payment was debited but status failed?
Check booking/payment status before retrying. Contact support with booking ID, amount, time and payment reference. Duplicate or verified failed-booking charges are handled under the Refund Policy.
37. How do I complain?
Use the in-app Help and Support option or contact Zendly through the official support email or phone number. Include your booking ID and any relevant evidence. Zendly will acknowledge the complaint within 48 hours and aim to resolve it within one month, or sooner where required by applicable law.
38. Is Zendly’s decision final?
No. Internal review does not remove rights to approach a consumer commission, regulator, court or other lawful forum.
Account and privacy
39. How do I update my profile?
Go to Profile → Edit Profile → Save Changes to update your profile information. Some verified details may require re-verification or assistance from Zendly Support before they can be changed.
40. How do I close my account?
Use Account Settings where available or contact official support. Active bookings, outstanding payments, disputes and legally required retention may apply.
41. Why is location needed?
Location may support route selection/matching, navigation, tracking, proximity/safety and Carrier availability. Background access requires the relevant permission and Privacy Policy disclosure.
42. Why is Aadhaar requested?
Aadhaar may be requested as part of the Carrier identity verification process to help verify the Carrier’s identity and maintain a safe and trusted delivery platform. Aadhaar information will be handled in accordance with Zendly’s Privacy Policy and applicable law.
43. How is personal data handled?
Zendly processes data as described in its Privacy Policy, including purposes, sharing, retention, safeguards, rights and grievance contacts. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
